Research & development

R&D as a service. You choose how to own the result.

Startups and businesses bring a problem that needs technology that does not exist yet. Aorizon Research Technology, our lab, builds and proves it. Then it becomes yours by technology transfer, through a joint venture, or as a custom product built to your requirement.

Three ways to take the technology.

Same lab, same process. The difference is who owns what at the end, and how the economics work.

01

Technology transfer (ToT)

We research, build and prove the technology in the lab. On completion we transfer it to you: source, models, documentation, training for your team and the rights to run and extend it.

  • Scoped R&D programme with milestones
  • Working prototype, then a production-grade build
  • Full technical documentation and training
  • Rights assigned or licensed as agreed in writing

Fits a company that wants to own and operate the technology in-house after handover.

02

Joint venture (JV)

We co-develop the technology and share ownership and upside. Aorizon contributes the research and engineering; the partner contributes the domain knowledge, the customers or the distribution.

  • Shared roadmap and governance, agreed up front
  • Aorizon invests R&D effort against a share of the venture
  • Clear terms on IP, revenue and exit
  • Ongoing development from the same lab team

Fits a founder with a market and no lab, or a business opening a new line.

03

Custom product, to requirement

You specify the product; we build it and you own it outright. Scoped, priced and delivered with fixed milestones, then handed over so your team can run it without us.

  • Requirement captured and agreed before pricing
  • Fixed milestones and timeline
  • You own the deliverable in full
  • Optional maintenance or lab retainer afterwards

Fits a defined requirement with a fixed budget and timeline.

How an R&D engagement runs

One lab, one process, whichever model you choose.

  1. Problem and feasibility

You bring the problem, the constraints and what has been tried. We assess whether the technology can be built, and what it would take. 1–2 weeks

  2. Model and terms

We agree the ownership model (ToT, JV or custom), the scope, the milestones and the commercial terms, in writing, before research starts.

  3. Research and prototype

The lab formulates the approach, builds a prototype and tests it against the criteria we agreed. You see every milestone. typically 4–12 weeks

  4. Production build

The prototype becomes a production-grade system with the architecture, tests and deployment it needs to run at your scale.

  5. Transfer or launch

Documentation, training and rights under ToT; venture launch under JV; product handover for a custom build. Then an optional retainer if you want the lab to keep going.

What the lab works on.

The research areas behind the service. The lab site has the detail and a route for academic and industry collaboration.

Software systems

How software is designed, built, evaluated and kept alive, and what new tools and runtimes change about that.

AI and machine learning

Language models, computer vision, agent workflows, and the evaluation that tells you whether a system actually works.

Research and education systems

Assessment platforms, learning systems and research infrastructure: the tooling that investigation and learning depend on.

Common questions

Who owns the IP?

It depends on the model and is agreed in writing before work starts. Under technology transfer the rights are assigned or licensed to you at handover. Under a joint venture they are held by the venture on agreed terms. For a custom product you own the deliverable outright.

Can we start with a prototype and decide the model later?

Yes. Feasibility and prototype work can run as a fixed-scope project first. The ownership model is then chosen for the production build.

Does Aorizon invest money in a joint venture?

Aorizon contributes research and engineering effort against a share of the venture. It is not a fund and does not manage anyone else's money.

What if our own engineers will run it?

That is what technology transfer is for. You receive documented specifications, source, APIs and model files, plus training, so your team can operate and extend it without us.

How much does it cost?

Feasibility work is typically scoped like a project; research and build are priced per programme. An AI prototype or pilot starts from the Core Engineering Sprint plan; the Advanced AI & Research Lab plan suits ongoing programmes. Tell us the problem and we will propose the right structure.
